DevOps Engineer (Iași)

Welcome to spektr. We’re here to make compliance manageable, no matter how complex it feels. From onboarding to monitoring and everything in between, spektr helps you stay on top of it all, without the endless manual work.

Before spektr, our team helped build these companies

WHY SPEKTR
At spektr, we are on a mission to automate the world’s most complex compliance workflows through AI. Founded by the team behind HelloFlow (acquired by Trulioo), spektr is building the infrastructure and AI agents to run compliance at scale.Compliance, built like product.
Financial services has changed enormously. Much of the technology behind compliance hasn’t. Teams still spend hours on manual checks, disconnected systems slow down launches, and entering a new market can mean rebuilding the same processes all over again. We’re changing that. spektr gives regulated businesses one platform for onboarding, monitoring and investigations, with configurable workflows and AI agents that do the legwork. Product, Operations and Compliance can move together, with the control they need to grow. It’s a huge opportunity in an industry that has moved slowly for too long. We’ve built a product we’re proud to put in front of the most demanding customers. Now we’re looking for people who want to help get it into their hands.

  • $26M raised, including a $20M Series A led by NEA, with backing from Northzone, Seedcamp and PreSeed Ventures.
  • Customers worth getting excited about. We work with businesses including Pleo, Trustly, Nexi and Santander. These are large accounts with complex problems, ambitious teams and plenty of room for us to make a difference.
  • Three offices: Copenhagen, London and Iași, with customers across more than 15 countries.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Platform team and help us scale infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability across our growing backend ecosystem.

You will work alongside our senior platform engineers on our Kubernetes-native stack, taking ownership of real infrastructure from early on. This is a role where you'll learn by building: our environment is modern and opinionated, and you'll be running production infrastructure for financial institutions, not sandbox projects.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely curious about how systems work, comfortable being new to things, and eager to grow fast in a high-bar environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain our AWS infrastructure using Terraform/Terragrunt, starting with well-scoped modules and growing into larger architectural work.
  • Kubernetes Operations: Support our EKS clusters and a rapidly growing microservices environment (NestJS backend), handling deployments, troubleshooting, and day-to-day cluster health.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Build and improve pipelines with GitHub Actions in a trunk-based development environment, so deployments stay safe and fast.
  • GitOps: Work with ArgoCD-driven workflows and learn to own them end to end.
  • Observability: Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and dashboards, helping us catch problems before customers do.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with backend engineers and security stakeholders, applying cloud security best practices with AWS-native tooling.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • The Scale-up Mindset: You thrive in fast-moving environments and prefer building systems over following manuals.
  • High-Agency Learner: You dig into problems you haven't seen before instead of waiting to be shown. You ask good questions and you don't ask the same one twice.
  • Foundations: 3–5 years in DevOps, SRE, Platform, or backend engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Cloud & Containers: Working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes. You don't need to be an expert yet, but you should be comfortable navigating both and understand what's happening underneath.
  • Automation Instinct: Hands-on experience with Terraform or another IaC tool, and a preference for scripting something over doing it twice by hand.
  • CI/CD Familiarity: You've worked with pipelines before, ideally GitHub Actions, and understand why deployment safety matters.
  • Scripting & Systems: Comfortable with Linux, Git, and at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Communication: You can explain what broke and why to an engineer who wasn't there.

OUR TECH INTERESTS

  • Cloud & Orchestration: AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Helm
  • IaC: Terraform, Terragrunt
  • CI/CD & GitOps: GitHub/Gitlab, ArgoCD
  • Observability: DataDog

OUR PROCESS

  • Intro call with our Talent team (30 minutes)
  • Technical Interview (30 minutes)
  • Technical Interview (60 minutes)

HOW TO APPLY

We hire the smartest, kindest, and most unrelenting people and let them do their best work. You’ll be joining a team with a proven track record and the "Product-Market Fit" to change an entire industry.
